If your company isn’t going green fast enough, there are some simple steps all employees can take to start going green in the workplace. You may want to consider taking home things you know can be recycled and recycle them from home. Maybe this would even motivate others to do the same, or you may want to consider recycling coworkers recycling for them. Set up the print function of your computer to print on both sides of the paper. When making photocopies, copy on both sides of the paper and if possible do this for large copy jobs for even formal presentations or trainings. Most people recognize the value of not using as much paper and will welcome the green opportunity. Bring a reusable coffee mug, water bottle, plate, and utensils to use for meals and drinks. Maybe you could even go to a yard sale and get reusable coffee mugs, plates, and utensils and stock them in your workplace kitchens for other employees to use. These are just a few simple steps each of us can take individually to support our workplaces in going green and help our environment.
