JOB TITLE: Head-Manufacturing/Head-Operations

REPORTS INTO: Chief Operating Officer
DIRECT REPORTEES: Manager-Production, Manager-Quality
PURPOSE:
• To achieve production targets as per planned schedule.
• To promote sales of new components by in house development.
• To address and reduce customer complaints and in house rejection by right analysis, corrective actions with involvement and empowerment of team members.
DELIVERABLES:
• To ensure optimum productivity and quality of production.
• To achieve ZERO customer complaints and to reduce in house rejection up to 500 pm.
• To ensure 100 % schedule compliance to all customers of quality products.
• To identify / audit/ correct unsafe conditions and potential unsafe condition so as to provide safe working conditions and no accident zones.
• To keep the morale of the team high by quick redressal of any queries and grievances.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To achieve production targets as per planned schedule with continuous improvement in productivity, quality, skills and cost reduction and to maximize existing sales by compliance to quality and by development of new components
• To drive and implement new systems like Preventive maintenance on the shop floor, ERP implementation and others as well as quality management initiatives for the shop floor.
• To monitor and reduce manufacturing cost by reducing the cycle time of manufacturing operation by way of zero rework and rejection and down time reduction for the machineries, reducing production cost by optimum utilization of available resources and avoid losses and wastage
• To drive all safety procedures, guidelines and processes among the shop floor members and continually identify unsafe conditions to avoid accidents.
• To streamline processes in order to eliminate repetitive failures to improve delivery time etc.
• To increase the technical capabilities of team members by training to encourage safe working and to avoid rejection and rework.
• To encourage creativity amongst the team through continuous upgradation of skills, identify high potential members for development and higher responsibilities and motivation of the team
• To communicate effectively with teams and drive them to achieve departmental targets as well as review and monitor these targets periodically .
• To help drive organizational processes such as ISO
• To drive Performance Management System within Project Management function to enhance team performance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Graduation or Post Graduation in Engineering preferably with MBA qualification.
• 10 plus years of experience out of which some years must be as head of a manufacturing or production department in a similar industry.
