Dealing With Violence in the Workplace

Scope—This article addresses employers’ responsibility to prevent, manage and mitigate the consequences of workplace violence, including domestic violence. Published reports and research demonstrate the scope of the problem as a major issue for human resource professionals and other corporate officials. Discussion of legal issues and practical challenges in developing and implementing programs and policies is meant to help employers prevent and mitigate the risks of workplace violence.
