One of the things senior HR professionals and business managers expect from their HR colleagues is a ‘good understanding of business.’ What do they really mean by this clichéd phrase?
HR professionals seem to believe that understanding business is about:
• Knowing how product/s of the firm are manufactured and sold; in the case of services, how they are delivered to the customers
• Understanding the business processes of the firm
